Easy Like Sunday Morning - Date Night In

Raise your hand if you have young kids who allow you to have a peaceful, late morning. Anyone? Me either, if you do…know that you are lucky! Every once in awhile my kids will sleep until 6:30, so we really don’t have that down time in the mornings to enjoy some quiet or a cup of coffee before the house is awake. When Night In Boxes sent me the Easy Like Sunday Morning Date Night In Box, I had no idea how we would squeeze this date in, so rather than stressing about trying to fit it into a morning we decided to have our date after our kids went to bed.

This month’s box was breakfast themed so I was really excited about it, anything that includes waffles is a winner in my book.

What’s Inside?
date night itinerary*
waffles
maple syrup
tea
essential oil wipes
2 mini pencils
game dice
*games are included in the itinerary

This Month’s Menu*
Drinks – Blood Orange Mimosas, Sparkling Blood Orange Juice
Main Course – Kale and Goat Cheese Scrambled Eggs, Candied Bacon, Belgian Waffles (included)
*all menus come with a complete shopping list and the directions for how to make everything.

Since we had our date after dinner, we didn’t make anything from the menu even though it all sounded AMAZING, my husband did snack on the included Belgian waffles though. We read through the front page of our itinerary, turned on the Spotify playlist, and found a comfy spot in our room.  There were a few games to play and my husband, being the competitive soul that he is, chose to play the dice game…he won and wasn’t shy about it. The other games included a Mad Lib, a 10-question quiz, a crossword puzzle, and a fill in blank story.

We tried a few of the games, but the dice game was our favorite because just involved having fun and was a total close call at the end. I did love the idea behind the other activities, but I would have preferred them to not be so related to loving your partner and only built around that theme, some regular every day themes would have been appreciated. The Mad Lib was a little funny because we didn’t necessarily keep our words revolving around love, and I totally wasn’t pleased that he apparently asked to take my coffee…do you even know me?! Ha! The story was another fill in the blank activity which had to do with celebrating your love, and the crossword puzzle was filled with words like spark and chocolate. We love playing games with each other and do so often, they usually involve strategy or competition.
